Canyon Europe hosts Best Practice Visit & Resource Efficiency Workshop
Canyon Europe hosted a Best Practice Visit on 27thAugust in which they showcased their waste minimisation project. The day also hosted a Resource Efficiency Workshop which was facilitated by NISP Northern Ireland. The event was attended by several manufacturing company representatives throughout the island of Ireland.
Emma Trainor from Canyon Europe highlighted opportunities to reduce, reuse and recycle resources and demonstrated the advantages of doing so by presenting facts and figures of waste reduction and cost savings that Canyon Europe had reaped.
A range of industry experts contributed to the event including, Paul Beaney from Cherry Polymers and Andrew Tarling from Waste End Strategy / Rabbitt Recycling. Cherry Polymers presented new opportunities for polymer processors that have been created by upgrades in the recycling supply chain and new technological developments. Waste End Strategy / Rabbitt Recycling highlighted innovative solutions in waste management.
NISP brings together companies from all business sectors with the aim of improving cross industry resource efficiency. The NISP workshop enabled companies to realise cost savings and create new business opportunities too.
