Canyon Europe celebrates their 20th anniversary year of manufacturing in Northern Ireland.

Established in 1988 as the European subsidiary of the Japanese Canyon Corporation, the company has grown to become a leading manufacturer of trigger sprayers and pump dispensers. From the plant near Belfast they design, develop and manufacture trigger sprayers and pump dispensers for export throughout Europe, North America and Africa.

Since coming to N. Ireland Canyon Corporation has been privileged with continued support from Invest N.I. and the Newtownabbey community. These resources combined with the local management team has established Canyon with a strong position in the European market. The company provides employment for 125 people and has invested approximately £11 million pounds in the last 3 years to gain a competitive edge and ensure the future of the plant.

Over the past 20 years Canyon has continually diversified and developed their range of dispensing products. The company was the first European manufacturer to have a back-suction pump dispenser. They were also the first trigger sprayer manufacturer to develop branded customised shrouds, enabling customers to use the trigger sprayer to strengthen their brand image amongst consumers.

In recent years there have been increasing pressures on high volume commodity manufacturing in the West, from significant increases in raw materials and energy prices, to the tremendous impact of low cost competition in the developing economies. In response to these challenges Canyon Europe embarked on an ambitious plan to secure significant growth, increase market share and ensure the future prosperity of the company. A focused enthusiasm in delivering excellence in design, product and service has enabled Canyon Europe to secure these objectives and become a driving force in the global market.

The company has carried out an export marketing strategy which has brought continued success and achievement in the UK and European market place. Whilst Europe is the primary market, products are sold to over 30 countries around the globe.  These efforts culminated in Canyon Europe being conferred with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category last month.
